World’s first 5K2K OLED gaming monitors with second-generation Dual-Mode and smart gaming monitors with built-in webOS. LG Electronics introduced the LG UltraGear GX9 Series at CES 2025, further strengthening its leadership in the premium OLED gaming monitor market. This new lineup features the award-winning 45GX990A, which received three CES 2025 Innovation Awards, including the prestigious “Best of Innovation” and an innovative all-in-one smart gaming monitor powered by LG webOS. These awards highlight LG’s commitment to providing cutting-edge and high-quality gaming solutions.
Immersive Gaming Experience with Advanced WOLED Technology:
All variants in the LG UltraGear GX9 Series include curved display panels that use LG’s superior OLED technology. This technology provides high brightness levels, true blacks, brilliant colours, and optimum curvature, resulting in a highly immersive gaming experience. The displays are also certified for reduced blue light emissions, which reduces eye strain during long gaming sessions. LG’s Anti-Glare & Low Reflection (AGLR) coating improves visibility by reducing screen reflections and glare, especially in bright situations.
45GX990A and 45GX950A: Pioneering 5K2K OLED Gaming:
The 45GX990A and 45GX950A are 45-inch 21:9 gaming monitors with ultra-high 5K2K resolution (5,120 x 2,160), which is a first for OLED panels. The 21:9 aspect ratio provides a larger field of view than typical 16:9 displays, which improves immersion while remaining more content-compatible than ultra-wide 32:9 monitors. Because of their large screen sizes, these monitors are great for a variety of productivity tasks as well as gaming.
Both models include LG’s second-generation Dual-Mode capability, which allows users to change the aspect ratio (21:9 or 16:9) and picture size (39, 34, or 27 inches) with a single touch to switch between preset screen resolution and refresh rate combinations. This includes eight alternative configurations, allowing users to tailor their gaming setups to various game genres such as FPS, RPG, MOBA, and racing simulators.
45GX990A: The World’s First Bendable 5K2K Gaming Monitor:
The LG UltraGear OLED flexible Gaming Monitor (45GX990A) is the world’s first flexible OLED display with a 5K2K resolution. The 45-inch display can switch from a flat surface to a 900R curvature in seconds, giving viewers unmatched flexibility and control over their viewing experience. The updated Dual-Mode feature makes it easy to switch between resolution and refresh rate settings, as well as customize aspect ratio and picture size. The 45GX990A features an ultra-fast 0.03ms (GtG) response time, ensuring smooth and responsive gameplay.
45GX950A: 5K2K OLED with 800R Curvature and DisplayPort 2.1:
The LG UltraGear OLED Gaming Monitor (model 45GX950A) is another standout from the GX9 family. This monitor has a curved (800R), 21:9 format, 5K2K resolution, and a self-lit 45-inch OLED panel. It produces clear, lifelike images with great colours and contrast, which is typical of LG’s OLED technology. The four-sided, Virtually Borderless design and narrow bezels improve immersion and offer a clean appearance. The monitor’s 125 pixels per inch (PPI) resolution and RGWB subpixel pattern improve text readability, making it ideal for productivity tasks such as document editing and web browsing.
The 45GX950A, like the flexible model, has Dual-Mode capability with eight adjustable configurations and supports DisplayPort 2.1, HDMI 2.1, and USB-C with 90W power delivery. This provides compatibility with the most recent graphics cards and features such as variable refresh rate (VRR) while also allowing for easy device charging. The monitor is certified by NVIDIA G-SYNC® and AMD FreeSync™ Premium Pro, which improves gaming performance and reduces screen tearing.
39GX90SA: A Versatile Smart Gaming Monitor:
The LG UltraGear 39GX90SA is intended for both gaming and entertainment streaming. WebOS powers it and acts as a standalone home entertainment hub, allowing you to access streaming services without the need for a PC or set-top box. Its 39-inch curved (800R) OLED display with a 21:9 aspect ratio produces bright colours and deep blacks, making it ideal for AAA games as well as HDR movies and series. LG’s ergonomic L-shaped stand supports a clutter-free desk setting, while USB Type-C ports provide convenient communication.
YS Lee, vice president and head of LG Media Entertainment Solution Company’s IT Business Unit, stressed that the LG UltraGear GX9 Series establishes a new benchmark for OLED gaming monitors by integrating innovative display technology with smart features that improve the user experience. He cited the world’s first 5K2K OLED gaming monitors with second-generation Dual-Mode and smart gaming monitors with built-in webOS as significant advancements that provide maximum value and enjoyment to customers.
