Triumph Rocket 3 ‘Evel Knievel’ Edition: A Tribute to the Stunt Legend | hoobae

A special “Evil Knievel” inspired by Triumph Rocket 3, limited to only 500 units around the world, is a mark of reckless showmanship associated with extravagant but awe-inspiring pranks in the 1960s and 1970s.

Triumph Rocket 3 ‘Evel Knievel’ Motorcycles unveiled a unique limited edition version of the Triumph Rocket 3 R and Rocket 3 GT to commemorate the brand’s renowned collaboration with iconic motorcyclist Evil Knievel (Robert Craig Knievel). The firm has stated that only 500 of these unique edition motorcycles would be made, emphasizing its uniqueness and status.

Evel Knievel

Robert Craig Knievel, better known as Evel Knievel, rose to prominence in the mid-1960s and late 1970s for his lavish and absurd motorcycle stunts and theatrics, such as jumping over a line of vehicles or spanning a gorge. For his crazy travels, he frequently chose Triumph’s Bonneville.

Most notable is the Triumph T120 Bonneville, which included his attempt at the most significant jump of his career, reaching 141 feet at the Caesars Palace fountains. Even in the twilight of his wounded but storied career, Evel Knievel has been seen on the Triumph motorcycle during his last few public appearances.

It’s safe to say that the British motorbike maker and the American daredevil have a long and distinguished history together, soaring over automobiles, canyons, and fountains in front of sold-out audiences. Triumph now wishes to recognize that cooperation by allowing collectors and enthusiasts all over the world to commemorate one of the pioneers of motorcycle stuntmanship.

The Triumph Rocket 3 ‘Evel Knieval’ is available in two different variants: R and GT. Both variants offer distinct riding ergonomics, catering to a variety of motorcycling needs, all while retaining the infamous 2,458cc 3-cylinder engine – the largest capacity engine ever put on a production motorcycle.

Both the Rocket R and GT are given the Evel Knievel treatment, with the iconic blue stripe laden with stars on the chromed-out fuel tank, as well as the daredevil’s jumpsuit livery, which has become synonymous not only with Evel himself but also with a wide range of pop culture and films that depict a motorcycle stuntman downing the same white and blue striped suit.

Other notable features include a gold Evel Knievel signature embroidered on the leather seat, white accents with contrasting sapphire black finished body panels such as the flyscreen, headlight bowl, mudguards, side panels, and rear bodywork, and a bespoke Evel Knievel branded start-up animation every time the rider starts the 2,458 cc DOHC triple.

Triumph Rocket 3 ‘Evel Knievelwill provide each purchaser with an exclusive collector’s edition book written by famous author and Knievel expert Stuart Barker. The book will describe Evel Knievel’s extraordinary narrative and connection with the brand.

Other significant features include standard Rocket 3 features such as cornering ABS, adjustable suspension, traction control, hill start aid, cruise control, and three riding modes: rain, sports, and road.

The 500 units will be shared equally between the two types, 250 for the Rocket R and 250 for the Rocket 3 GT. Deliveries will begin as early as March 2025 for the select 500 owners.
